A silver sedan was spotted moving on its own along the Jakarta–Cikampek toll highway in Indonesia, with no one appearing to be in control. The potentially deadly situation was averted thanks to a quick-thinking truck driver who stayed close behind to prevent an accident.
Footage of the incident, uploaded to TikTok, shows the sedan slowly rolling in the right lane while a white truck follows beside it, honking repeatedly to alert the driver. Despite these efforts, no one was seen steering the vehicle as it continued along the highway.
The car eventually came to a stop at the Tambun toll exit at kilometre 21, where traffic cones were used to block its path. Local reports suggest the driver may have suffered a sudden medical emergency while driving, possibly a heart attack.
Indonesian authorities confirmed the driver had passed away by the time paramedics and toll staff arrived. Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved in the incident, and the truck driver’s vigilance prevented what could have been a major highway accident.
The video quickly went viral, with netizens praising the truck driver for his quick thinking and steady presence of mind in averting a serious tragedy.
