Continuous rainfall at the alert level is expected to affect several areas in Sarawak and Sabah starting this Friday.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), continuous rain is forecast in parts of Sarawak, including Bintulu, Miri and Limbang, on Friday and Saturday.
Similar weather conditions are also expected in Sabah from January 30 to February 1, involving districts in Tawau (Kunak and Lahad Datu), Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan) as well as Kudat.
Meanwhile, 37 residents of Kampung Seruyuk in Sebuyau, Samarahan Division, who were relocated to a temporary evacuation centre (PPS) after their homes were affected by flooding, were allowed to return home today.
The evacuation centre at the old Kampung Seruyuk Mosque building, which was opened at 8am yesterday, was closed at 10am this morning.
Several areas in Sarawak have experienced flash floods following continuous heavy rain since last Sunday.
