A bizarre burglary unfolded at a rose-themed restaurant in Arizona when a couple was caught on security cameras engaging in sexual activity outside the restaurant before breaking in to steal cash and alcohol.
According to Fox News, the incident occurred on the early morning of October 25 at Mon Cherie, a restaurant known for its romantic décor of flower walls and wreaths. Security footage revealed the couple first having sex in the outdoor floral display area before forcing entry by breaking the door lock.
Restaurant owner Lexi Caliskan said the thieves made off with approximately $450 USD (about RM 2,200) in cash, along with an iPhone 5 and several bottles of alcohol. Employees discovered the break-in upon arriving for work the next morning.
Caliskan admitted that while the crime was frustrating, the surveillance footage left everyone laughing and shaking their heads. “In a way, you could call it a kind of romance,” she joked, noting that the restaurant’s beautiful flower decorations are usually a favorite spot for couples to take photos.
The incident has gone viral for its unusual combination of public sexual activity and theft, leaving the community amused and bewildered by this “alternative romantic moment.”
