Adam Hamil, 43, known as Danny, has emphasised that his recent legal victory over a doctor for a botched nose surgery was about justice, not money.

Danny was awarded RM341,770 in damages in January after the Court of Appeal dismissed the doctor’s appeal. The procedure had left his nose deformed, causing severe emotional distress and depression, which required almost three years of psychiatric treatment.
“In the beginning, I constantly wore a face mask because I could not bear to face people. I was deeply affected, and I still require medication and treatment today,” he said.
While the initial surgery cost RM10,000, Danny spent around RM250,000 on corrective procedures. He explained that he had gone to a registered doctor, who promoted his services on social media with celebrity and influencer testimonials. “My nose was slightly crooked at the time, and he said he could straighten it. I trusted him, not realising he was not qualified in the field of aesthetics,” he added.
Danny’s lawyer, Datuk Wan Azmir Wan Majid of Messrs Hafarizam Wan & Aisha Mubarak, said the court found that the defendant had performed surgery outside his professional scope.
In addition to the damages, the doctor was ordered to pay five per cent annual interest on the judgment sum from the date of the decision until full settlement, as well as legal costs amounting to RM150,000 for proceedings in the High Court and Court of Appeal.
