Nine Men Arrested in Bau for Drug Abuse

Nine men were arrested yesterday in Bau for drug abuse, police confirmed.

Bau police chief, Supt Mohd Haide A Rahman, said the arrests occurred during a district operation conducted from 11 am to 1:45 pm.

“One of the suspects was found in possession of 1.7 grammes of crystal meth (syabu) in a transparent plastic bag and was arrested under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.

“All nine suspects also tested positive for drugs and were detained under Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act,” Supt Mohd Haide added.

He warned the public that authorities would continue to take stern action against drug abuse.
