Three schools in Bangi, Sabak Bernam and Tanjong Karang were hit by separate fire incidents this morning, prompting investigations by the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department.
The first fire was reported at SMK Jalan 3, Bangi, at 6.54am. Firefighters from Bangi and Kajang arrived within minutes to find a sports equipment storage room fully ablaze, with the fire spreading to an adjacent classroom block. The flames were brought under control by 7.07am and fully extinguished by 7.30am.
A second incident occurred at 8.56am at SBPI Sungai Lang, Sabak Bernam, where a fire broke out in the teachers’ lounge on the ground floor. Firefighters from Sabak Bernam arrived at 9.13am and quickly contained the blaze, which damaged roughly 10 per cent of the room.
The third fire was reported at 10.26am at SK Berjaya, Sungai Burung, Tanjong Karang, involving a lamp in the school library. School staff successfully extinguished the flames before firefighters arrived.
No injuries or casualties were recorded in any of the incidents.
Fire investigators are now working to determine the causes of all three fires.
