A man had a narrow escape after the car he was driving skidded and crashed into another vehicle parked near a bus stop along Jalan Mahkota Medical Centre in Banda Hilir last night.
The incident occurred at around 8.14pm and involved a 34-year-old driver who fortunately managed to escape unharmed.
Melaka Fire and Rescue Department senior officer Mohd Hafidzatullah Rashid said authorities received an emergency call through the MERS 999 hotline before a team from the Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Melaka Tengah was dispatched to the scene.
“Upon arrival, firefighters found that the accident involved a Honda City which had crashed into a Proton S70 parked near a bus stop,” he said.
According to him, the driver of the Honda City had already managed to exit the vehicle safely before rescuers arrived and was not injured in the incident.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
