The General Operations Force (PGA) foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,000 liters of diesel after intercepting a Mitsubishi Pajero in Kampung Dangar on Wednesday.

Acting Southeast Brigade Commander Assistant Commissioner Ijid Landu Binju said the incident occurred around 9 a.m. when the driver fled on foot as officers attempted to stop the vehicle.

Upon inspection, authorities discovered 40 jerry cans filled with approximately 1,000 liters of diesel in the vehicle. “The fuel is suspected to have been intended for smuggling into Thailand,” said Ijid.

The total value of the seizure, including the vehicle, is estimated at RM42,900. The case has been handed over to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Pasir Mas branch for further action.

Investigations are ongoing under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
