Early this morning, nine vehicles were destroyed in a fire at the Tunas Residensi condominium parking area.
The blaze, which broke out around 4:50 a.m., involved five cars and four motorcycles.
Penang Fire and Rescue Department’s Deputy Director of Operations John Sagun Francis said the emergency call came in at 4:59 a.m., and the team from Bayan Baru Fire Station arrived six minutes later to tackle the fire.
The vehicles affected included a Perodua Bezza, Honda CR-V, Perodua Myvi, Toyota Corolla Cross, Honda Civic, and four motorcycles. No injuries were reported, but the fire caused around 80% damage to the vehicles.
John added that the fire was under control by 5:27 a.m. and fully extinguished by 6:08 a.m. The cause of the fire and the total losses are still under investigation.
