A seat dispute on a crowded Hong Kong train escalated into violence when an elderly man allegedly punched a woman after he believed she had blocked his access to a seat.
According to The Standard, the man took the seat immediately after striking the woman. An Instagram video of the incident shows the elderly man, wearing a mask, standing next to the woman in a black jacket before punching her in the face.
The woman called on fellow commuters for help, while another passenger attempted to intervene and separate them. Other passengers reportedly scolded the man, reminding him that physical violence is against the law in Hong Kong.
The video has since gone viral on Instagram, receiving over 3,000 likes and more than 200 comments.
