Elderly Woman Found Dead in Locked Home in Kamunting

An elderly woman was found dead inside a locked house at Taman Azizul Rahman, Kamunting, today.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) acting assistant director Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah said the department received a request for assistance from the police at 1.05pm to gain entry into the house.

A team from the Kamunting Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at 1.13pm and confirmed that the door was locked, with a person believed to be inside the residence.

Firefighters forced the door open using specialised Paratech equipment. A 64-year-old woman was found lying in the living room and was later pronounced dead by officials from the Health Ministry.

The victim’s body was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation. The operation concluded at 1.56pm.
