The family of a 74-year-old e-hailing driver from Kuching, Sarawak has issued an urgent appeal for public assistance after he failed to return home on Wednesday, 18 March. Robert Lee was last seen leaving his residence at approximately 3:30 pm and has been completely out of contact since that time. His family became increasingly alarmed when he did not return by evening, prompting an immediate and extensive search throughout the night which unfortunately yielded no results.
Technical logs indicate that Mr Lee’s mobile phone lost signal shortly after his departure, with his last active status on WhatsApp recorded around 4:00 pm on the day of his disappearance. The sudden loss of communication is described as highly unusual for the senior citizen. Adding to the family’s deep concern is the fact that Mr Lee requires daily medical intervention, including heart medication and insulin injections every morning, which he has now missed for over 24 hours.
At the time of his disappearance, Mr Lee was operating as a part-time driver for the Maxim e-hailing service. He was driving a dark brown Proton Saga bearing the registration plate number QAB 8263.
The family has officially filed a missing person report with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and is working closely with local authorities to track his potential movements. Search parties have spent the last several hours scouring various neighbourhoods and frequently visited areas, but there have been no confirmed sightings of the vehicle or the driver as of Thursday morning.
Members of the public who may have spotted the dark brown Proton Saga or have any information regarding the whereabouts of Robert Lee are urged to contact the family immediately. Those with relevant information can reach out to Ms Lee at 013-8338302 or 0111-9885570. The family has expressed their sincere hope that the community can help bring their father home safely to receive his necessary medical treatment.
