A man attempted to take his own life by jumping into the sea from a jetty, bringing his daughter with him, but both were fortunately rescued.
The incident occurred this morning around 7:00 a.m. at the jetty in Tuber.
Fire and Rescue Department Commander Mohamad Shazwan stated that six firefighters arrived at the scene at 7:38 a.m., responding immediately after receiving an emergency call through the NG999 system. The site is approximately 5 km from the fire station.
He added that the man had intended to end his life along with his daughter, but thankfully, members of the public had already rescued them before the firefighters arrived, preventing a potential tragedy.
