Police have arrested a foreign woman less than 24 hours after the body of another woman was discovered, believed to have been murdered in an industrial area in Tangkak early Monday morning.
Tangkak District Police Chief, Superintendent Roslan Mohd Talib, said the suspect, also a foreign national, was taken into custody shortly after the murder report was filed at 8:40 a.m.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim, aged 51 and believed to be a Vietnamese national, had been stabbed with a sharp object and was found unconscious. Examination of the body showed injuries to the neck, and it has been sent to the hospital for a post-mortem.
“During the incident, the suspect also inflicted injuries on herself after allegedly stabbing the victim. Police are still investigating the motive behind this crime,” Roslan added.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code (Malaysia). The victim was found with severe neck injuries, believed to have been caused by a knife attack.
