A video showing a man allegedly watching porn inside a mosque in Melaka has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage.
The clip, which has been widely shared on Facebook, claims the individual involved is a former politician and a member of the mosque committee. The incident is believed to have occurred on Dec 27, 2025.
In the video, a man identifying himself as an imam is seen approaching what appears to be an office within the mosque compound. Inside, another man is seated at a computer. As the cameraman moves closer and films through a window, pornographic content can be seen displayed on the computer screen.
The imam then knocks on the glass to alert the individual, who subsequently exits the room. He is questioned about his actions, while the imam states that the incident took place inside a mosque, that there were witnesses present, and that the recording was neither edited nor generated using artificial intelligence.
Following the video’s circulation, Berita Harian reported that Melaka State Committee Chairman for Education, Higher Learning and Religious Affairs, Datuk Rahmad Mariman, said the matter would be brought up at the Mosque Governance Committee meeting scheduled for next week.
