Four Men Plead Not Guilty To Conspiring Machete Attack At Gurney Paragon

Four men pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court today to a charge of conspiring to inflict grievous bodily harm on a man using a machete.

The accused—shop assistant Kisheaan Gunasegaran, 29; plumber Yogayoggan Sivasubramaniam, 26; technician Heganeswaran Servai Shanmuganathan, 28; and delivery driver Sarvindran Kirishna Kumar, 23—entered their plea before Judge Irwan Suainbon.

They are alleged to have conspired to attack 33-year-old Prashanraj A/L Sivasamy outside the Hyundai showroom at Gurney Paragon Mall around 8am on February 25.

The charge, under Section 326 of the Penal Code read with Section 120B, carries a maximum penalty of 20 years’ imprisonment, a fine, or whipping if convicted.

The court granted bail of RM15,000 each with one surety and imposed conditions including monthly reporting to the nearest police station and not interfering with the victim or witnesses.

The next court mention for document submission is set for April 15. The accused were represented by lawyer Lim Xian Zhi, while Deputy Public Prosecutor Lee Jun Keong appeared for the prosecution.
