Four Senior Students Referred to DPP Over Alleged Sexual Assault on Classmate

Date:

Police have submitted the investigation papers on a sexual misconduct case involving four Form Five male students and a Form Three female student at a state school to the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) for further action.

Melaka Police Chief, Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar, said a decision on whether the students will be charged is expected soon.

“The investigation papers have been completed and we are awaiting instructions from the DPP on whether all suspects will be charged this week or otherwise,” he said during a press conference at the Jasin District Police Headquarters on Wednesday.

Earlier reports stated that the gang rape incident occurred around 2.50 pm on October 2 in a classroom at a school in Alor Gajah. Two of the suspects reportedly recorded the act on their mobile phones.

The case came to light after the victim’s mother received information from a teacher regarding the circulation of the video and subsequently lodged a police report.

Following the report, all four suspects were remanded from last Saturday until this Thursday. The case is being investigated under Section 375B of the Penal Code.
