A violent attack occurred in Penang early this morning when four suspects, riding on two motorcycles, assaulted a man with machetes before fleeing the scene.
The victim sustained multiple stab wounds, including a head injury, and was covered in blood. He has since been rushed to hospital for urgent treatment.
The incident took place around 8am in front of a shopping mall that had not yet opened, meaning the area was relatively quiet with few bystanders.
According to video footage circulating online, two of the attackers carried out the assault before escaping on a motorcycle driven by their accomplices, leaving the scene splattered with blood.
The case has sparked public outrage, and police have launched a manhunt, though no official statements have been released so far.
