A four-year-old girl tragically died from heatstroke after being left in a car in Tanah Putih on Monday.
According to reports, the child, the youngest of two siblings, was forgotten in the vehicle after her parents went out for breakfast and returned home.
Gua Musang District Police Chief, Superintendent Sik Choon Foo, said the incident was reported at 3.50 pm. The girl was found unconscious in the car and rushed to Gua Musang Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
“Forensic Pathology examination confirmed that the cause of death was heatstroke,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
He added that investigations are ongoing, and the case is being classified under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 and as a Sudden Death Report.
Choon Foo urged the public not to speculate about the incident to avoid confusion. “Parents are advised to always ensure the safety of children under their care through close supervision,” he said.
