A 51-year-old man was arrested by Kuala Selangor police yesterday on suspicion of raping his 17-year-old daughter.
Kuala Selangor District Police Chief Superintendent Azaharudin said the suspect was arrested at 10:15 pm last night in the Bestari Jaya area and will be detained for seven days starting today, until August 5.
He said police received a report from medical staff at Tanjong Karang Hospital at 5:07 pm yesterday, alleging that the victim had been raped.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the unfortunate girl came to the hospital at 6 pm yesterday with stomach pain.”
In an interview with the Metro Daily today, he said preliminary investigations revealed that the victim claimed during a medical consultation that she had been raped by her biological father.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 376B of the Penal Code (incest).
