“Go Back Malaysia!” — Van Driver’s Outburst Over Littering Sparks Backlash

Date:

A video showing a van driver erupting in anger after being confronted for littering in a carpark has sparked widespread criticism online. Netizens have condemned the man for his aggressive behaviour and vulgar remarks, especially since he was clearly in the wrong.

The clip begins with the driver of a white Toyota HiAce throwing a plastic cup, a box, and tissue paper onto the ground next to his van. When an onlooker called him out, the man reacted furiously, questioning whether he had thrown the trash “into your car or not.”

His anger escalated when the onlooker clarified his point. The driver pointed at the floor while shouting, “This is your floor? Your floor, ah?” before yelling, “F**k you! Go back Malaysia!”

He then slammed his van door, flashed his middle finger, and continued shouting obscenities from his window.

According to the original poster, the incident happened on Nov 30, and there was a rubbish bin nearby. When told to dispose of his trash properly, the driver allegedly responded, “You go back Malaysia! Don’t come to Singapore. I throw my rubbish, it’s my problem.”

The OP emphasised that the issue had nothing to do with nationality but rather basic respect and civic responsibility. “Singapore stays clean because everyone plays their part — no one should be treated this way for reminding someone to do the right thing,” they wrote.

Netizens were quick to condemn the van driver for his outburst, with many calling his behaviour unjustified and offensive. Some questioned why he brought Malaysia into the argument, while others urged the OP to report the incident to the National Environment Agency (NEA).
