A minor traffic incident escalated into a heated confrontation yesterday around 12pm near Menjalara, involving a GrabFood rider and a car driver.
Witnesses reported that a car traveling straight got stuck in a yellow box as the traffic light turned red. A GrabFood motorcyclist attempted to weave between the queued vehicles and collided with the stationary car.
The incident quickly escalated as the rider reportedly went into “full rage mode,” physically assaulting the car driver at the scene. Nearby motorists watched in shock as the confrontation unfolded.
No serious injuries were immediately reported, though the driver appeared shaken. Authorities have yet to confirm if a police report was filed.
Traffic experts remind motorists that yellow box junctions exist to prevent gridlock and that weaving between cars is both illegal and risky, often turning minor collisions into road rage incidents.
Motorists and riders are urged to stay calm and report incidents to the authorities rather than resorting to violence.
