Häagen-Dazs Issues Recall of Mini Ice Cream Bars Which Could Trigger Allergic Reactions

Date:

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a voluntary recall of certain Häagen-Dazs Black Chocolate Mini Ice Cream Bars (6-pack) produced by Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream Holdings, Inc. due to a potential undeclared wheat allergen that could pose serious health risks to individuals with wheat allergies. The recall was issued on November 3.

The FDA noted that, so far, no illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with the product. The investigation is ongoing. Consumers are advised not to eat the affected ice cream bars and to either discard them or return them to the place of purchase.

Dreyer’s stated, “The safety, quality, and integrity of our products is always our top priority. We apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause our customers.

Häagen-Dazs, the flagship ice cream brand of General Mills, Inc., is produced under license in France for most global markets. In the U.S. and Canada, however, the brand is licensed to the Froneri Group, which manufactures the product on Dreyer’s ice cream production line in California.
