A family of three narrowly escaped injury after a landslide struck the kitchen of their home in Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Manchung, Bukit Beruntung, Hulu Selangor, yesterday.
The incident occurred at the rear section of the residence. The Hulu Selangor Civil Defence Force (APM) received the report at 6.30pm and deployed two personnel along with three officers from the Hulu Selangor District and Land Office.
“Upon arrival, the team assessed the situation and found that soil movement was still ongoing, with rainy weather and water flow observed around the landslide area,” APM said in a statement today.
No injuries were reported. The affected family has temporarily relocated to a relative’s home, and there was no need to open a temporary relief centre (PPS). Authorities will continue to monitor the area for further risks.
In a separate incident, a landslide was reported along Jalan Sungai Buaya, approximately 300 metres beyond the Eastern Coast Rail Link (ECRL) bridge crossing towards the Sungai Buaya toll.
The Hulu Selangor Public Works Department (JKR) said one lane was closed, with heavy vehicles rerouted to use the Bukit Beruntung toll instead. Authorities are monitoring the road condition to ensure public safety.
