Horror at Local Restaurant As Miri Diner Discovers Rodent Dropping in Food

Date:

A diner in Miri was left horrified after discovering what appeared to be a rat dropping in a bun while eating at a local eatery, instantly losing their appetite and sparking public concern.

The diner immediately took photos of the contaminated food as evidence and has filed a formal complaint with the Health Department. The department responded via email, confirming that it will investigate the matter and provide a follow-up response within 15 working days.

The complainant has also shared the incident on social media, warning the public to remain vigilant about food hygiene.

In response, Miri City Councilor Chan Li Ren confirmed that the case has been referred to the council’s Public Health Department for further action.

He emphasized that with today’s technology, smartphones make it easy for the public to capture photos and videos of any hygiene issues and report them to authorities, safeguarding consumer rights.

“Filing complaints about unsanitary food practices is a right every consumer should exercise. Clear evidence helps enforcement agencies understand the situation and take appropriate action,” he said.

Chan further warned that finding rat droppings in food is a serious violation of hygiene and food safety standards. “It is not only disgusting but could also pose significant health risks to anyone who consumes it. This must not be taken lightly,” he added.
