Housewife Choked & Threatened With Knife BY Husband Over Pregnancy Craving

Date:

A housewife has reported being a victim of domestic violence after being assaulted by her husband for asking him to buy ayam gepuk, a local fried chicken dish, during her pregnancy cravings, in an incident at a flat on Jalan Ikan Ayu, Cheras, last Wednesday.

The incident occurred around 3:30 pm when the victim made the request, which allegedly angered her husband, escalating a verbal argument into a physical attack.

Cheras District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud, confirmed that police received a report of the incident at 9:03 pm the same day.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the husband verbally abused the victim before becoming more aggressive, reportedly choking her.

“The suspect then grabbed a kitchen knife and pressed it against the victim’s neck,” Mohd Rosdi said in a statement on Monday.

The victim also claimed she was slapped on the face and punched in the head during the assault.

She sustained injuries to the right side of her neck and sought treatment at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) in Cheras before filing a police report.

Mohd Rosdi added that police have opened an investigation file into the case, and further action will be taken based on the findings.

Domestic violence remains a pressing concern in the community, and authorities urge victims to come forward promptly to ensure their safety and allow legal action to be taken.
