A domestic dispute in Zhengzhou, Henan, has recently gone viral online after a man surnamed Li accused his wife of allowing her best friend and the friend’s boyfriend to sleep in their marital bed. The shocking discovery led to a heated argument that exposed long-standing tensions in their eight-year marriage.
According to Nanguo Jinbao, Li said that he and his wife have been married for eight years and share two children. Their family life had been relatively peaceful until one evening when he returned home from work and found a couple lying on his bed. “The man even greeted me with a ‘hello,’” Li recounted. “I felt disgusted — that’s the bed my wife and I share.”
When he confronted his wife, who was cooking in the kitchen, she told him to “keep quiet and not disturb the guests,” explaining that the pair were her close friend and her friend’s boyfriend. Li said he could not accept the situation, pointing out that the house had a guest room and calling the act an invasion of his private space. The confrontation escalated into a serious argument, leaving the couple in a cold war. “I’d rather sleep in my car than go back to that house,” Li said.
In response, Li’s wife refuted his claims, saying that her friend never actually lay on the bed — her boyfriend was only sitting there while asking her to leave. She also accused her husband of being violent and neglectful, claiming he never helped with chores, rarely changed clothes, and contributed little to household expenses. “He calls others dirty, but he wears the same clothes for three weeks and just scrolls on his phone after work,” she said.
Li admitted to physically assaulting his wife in the past but claimed it happened because she often stayed out late drinking with friends until the early hours. His wife countered that she only did so to vent her emotions and admitted that letting her friend use the couple’s bedroom was “intentional — I wanted to disgust him,” revealing deep cracks in their relationship.
After mediation, the wife acknowledged that allowing her friend and her boyfriend to use the main bedroom was inappropriate, while Li admitted he had neglected his role in the family. Both parties have since agreed to communicate and temporarily reconciled.
