“I Haven’t Slept For Two Days”: Witness Traumatized After Motorcyclist Landed On Vehicle Roof

Date:

A witness identified as Megan, 42, has described the emotional trauma he continues to endure after witnessing a fatal crash along Jalan Raya Barat last Sunday, saying he has been unable to sleep since the incident due to the disturbing images replaying in his mind.

Speaking about the incident, Megan said he was travelling with a friend towards Port Klang when the collision happened suddenly. He initially believed his vehicle had not hit anything, before realising that a motorcyclist had landed on the roof of his Perodua Myvi.

He recalled seeing the victim’s hand hanging across the windscreen on the driver’s side, leaving him in shock and confusion as the situation unfolded within seconds. Despite the panic, he chose to continue driving slowly in an attempt to prevent the victim from falling onto the road.

“I drove slowly because I didn’t want him to fall. I didn’t mind if my car was damaged, I just wanted him to be safe,” he said, adding that he stopped by the roadside and prayed for the victim’s survival.

However, upon getting out of the vehicle, he realised that the motorcyclist had already stopped showing any signs of life, a moment he described as deeply traumatic and unforgettable.

Megan said the incident has left him unable to sleep and affected his ability to drive, admitting that he now suffers from fear and anxiety whenever he gets behind the wheel.

He also revealed further difficulties as the vehicle involved did not have comprehensive insurance coverage, as it was borrowed from a friend. As a result, he is unable to make any insurance claim and is now forced to bear repair costs while the vehicle remains impounded for investigations.

He added that the situation has disrupted his daily routine as he depends on the vehicle for work, while also expressing sympathy for the victim’s family upon learning that the deceased had young children.

“I feel sad knowing he had a family and small children,” he said, adding that the incident has affected many innocent parties.

Megan stressed that the crash has not only claimed a life but also left lasting consequences for others involved, calling for strict action against reckless driving to prevent similar tragedies.

The incident occurred at about 11.40am last Sunday when Amirul Hafiz Omar, 33, was killed after his motorcycle was struck by a car along Jalan Raya Barat in Klang.

South Klang district police chief ACP Lim Jit Huey said the crash involved a motorcycle and two cars. Preliminary investigations found that a Honda City driven by a local man in his 20s was speeding towards Klang town before overtaking several vehicles and entering the opposite lane, where it collided with the victim’s motorcycle.
