“I Killed My Wife” — Man Messages Police on WhatsApp After the Murder

Date:

A community in Banyuwangi, East Java, was left in shock after a man allegedly murdered his wife in their home on Monday.

The suspect, identified as GDF, 41, reportedly stabbed his wife, BW, 54, at their residence on Jalan Serayu, Panderejo Village, Banyuwangi District.

According to Banyuwangi City Police spokesperson AKP Hendry Cristianto, the victim was stabbed with a kitchen knife.

“After killing his wife, GDF searched for the police contact number in a WhatsApp group. He then sent a message confessing to the crime and said he wanted to surrender,” Hendry explained.

Authorities found the victim lifeless in the dining area with severe chest injuries and blood on her body.

“Further investigation is ongoing to determine the real motive behind the murder. Preliminary findings show that the couple did not face financial problems, as both had stable jobs,” Hendry added.

The victim’s body has been sent to the hospital for an autopsy.

It is understood that the couple had three children, none of whom were home at the time of the incident.

Neighbors described the pair as appearing happy and hardworking, adding that they never suspected any signs of domestic conflict.
