A 33-year-old doctor has been arrested over the suspected murder of his wife and their four-year-old son, whose bodies were discovered at their home in Bandar Dato Onn on Dec 31.
Johor police chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad said post-mortem examinations showed that the 32-year-old woman, an accountant, died from asphyxiation, while the child was smothered.
Police launched an investigation after the two were found dead in the house, leading to the arrest of the husband, who works as a medical doctor.
The case is being investigated as murder, and further inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances and motive behind the deaths.
