Kelantan Telegram Prostitution Ads Linked to Scam, Police Confirm

Date:

Police have confirmed that advertisements on Telegram offering prostitution services at hotels in Kelantan are linked to a scam syndicate.

State police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said investigators attempted to subscribe to the services advertised online but received no response directing them to any hotel.

“Investigations found that this is a scam syndicate operating through online advertisements,” he said.

Checks at approximately 50 hotels listed in the advertisements revealed no evidence of prostitution activities. Some hotel operators denied any involvement, while others clarified that they only catered to regular customers and did not accept walk-in guests.

“It can be confirmed that there are no prostitution activities of this nature at any hotel in Kelantan,” Yusoff added.

He urged the public not to be misled by such advertisements and to report any suspicious activities to the police. Investigations are being conducted under provisions related to prostitution and vice activities.
