Police arrested an individual at KLIA Terminal 1 yesterday after a bomb threat made on a departing flight was later confirmed to be a hoax.
The incident occurred at 5.32pm and prompted a coordinated response involving Aviation Security, police personnel, and the bomb disposal unit.
Malaysia Airports said all passengers remained safe throughout the incident, and the flight eventually departed at 7.19pm with the remaining passengers on board.
Authorities secured the area and thoroughly assessed the reported threat before declaring the situation fully safe at 8.58pm.
Malaysia Airports also reminded the public that issuing false threats is a serious offence under Malaysian law and offenders can face prosecution.
