Kuching residents have until November 30, 2025, to return their unused parking coupons for a refund as the city transitions to the new Kuching Smart Parking System, which officially begins its trial phase tomorrow.
In a joint statement, the Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) and Kuching South City Council (MBKS) announced that the refund exercise marks the end of the coupon-based parking system, which will soon be fully replaced by a digital platform aimed at enhancing convenience and enforcement efficiency.
Refunds can be claimed at the Kuching City Parking System Office, Ground Floor, Lot 9688 and 9692, Jalan Datuk Abang Abdul Rahim. Only coupons purchased this year between Jan 1 and Oct 31 are eligible, within the following serial number ranges:
- 20 sen: AP05530001 – AP09530000
- 50 sen: BB3426001 – BB3506000
- 80 sen: CB0750001 – CB0780000
Authorities urge the public to submit refund claims early to avoid last-minute congestion at counters.
“With the implementation of the new system, parking coupons will be completely discontinued,” said DBKU and MBKS, adding that the initiative supports Kuching’s transformation into a smart and sustainable city.
They also thanked the public for their cooperation during this digital transition and reaffirmed their commitment to improving urban living through data-driven management systems.
Pay & Go has been appointed as the concessionaire for the Kuching Smart Parking System under both councils, with full operations set to begin in January. The move also follows the expiry of the previous parking concession held by Kuching City Parking Systems Sdn Bhd.
