Local Influencer Defended After Controversial Chicken Bones Prank Says He Has Poor Language Skills

Date:

Last week, social media erupted with outrage after three local influencers posted a prank video where they gave a homeless man a meal filled with chicken bones, sparking widespread backlash. However, a friend of one influencer, Aluk, has come forward to defend him, saying the situation was blown out of proportion.

In a nearly one-minute video shared with China Press, Kaijie, who has known Aluk for about a year through TikTok collaborations, described Aluk as a generous person who enjoys helping others learn video editing and filming.

Kaijie explained that Aluk’s limited English and Malay skills may have caused misunderstandings between him and the homeless man during the prank. He emphasized that Aluk usually asks for consent before filming and often makes videos that poke fun at himself. According to Kaijie, the decision to film the controversial prank came from the other two influencers, and Aluk’s only fault was not stopping them from going ahead.

Kaijie also criticized the harsh public reactions toward Aluk, calling it a form of bullying. He pointed out that the homeless man had acknowledged receiving RM100 from Aluk to buy food and drinks. Kaijie hopes that the truth will come out and clear Aluk’s name.
