A lorry driver sustained injuries to his left arm after being slashed by two unknown individuals in Taman Sri Murni, Batu Caves, last Friday.
Sentul District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari, said the incident occurred at around 11pm near Block 58 of the Taman Sri Murni Flats. The two men, riding a motorcycle, allegedly attacked the 28-year-old victim with a parang, slashing his left arm four times.
The suspects, who were wearing helmets, then sped away on the motorcycle.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim did not know the attackers. The suspects suddenly approached and slashed his arm with a parang,” he said in a statement today.
Ahmad Sukarno added that the victim had no known enemies and did not suspect anyone. According to witnesses, including the victim’s girlfriend who was present at the scene, the attack happened very quickly, and the suspects’ faces could not be identified due to their helmets. The victim also had no outstanding debts with anyone.
The victim is currently receiving treatment at Hospital Selayang. The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code.
