Malaysia Faces Persistent Rain from Nov 19–21: Flood-Prone Areas on High Alert

The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a continuous rain warning (Waspada) for several states, urging residents to remain alert amid persistent rainfall expected over the coming days.

The alert covers Perlis, Kedah, Penang, and parts of Perak — including Kerian, Larut, Matang & Selama, Hulu Perak, and Kuala Kangsar — as well as Kelantan and Terengganu, specifically Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, and Marang. The rainy conditions are expected to persist from Wednesday, 19 November 2025, until Friday, 21 November 2025.

Authorities have advised residents, especially in flood-prone areas, to take necessary precautions and closely monitor official updates. Travelers and commuters are also urged to exercise caution due to possible disruptions caused by heavy rainfall.

The alert was officially released at 1:00 PM on 17 November 2025.
