Malaysian Caught with Military-Grade M4 in Thailand – Drug Syndicate Link Suspected!

Date:

Malaysian authorities are investigating a possible connection to the country’s drug syndicates following the arrest of a Malaysian man caught with a military-grade M4 rifle and hundreds of bullets in Sadao, Songkhla, Thailand.

Bukit Aman’s Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (JSJN) director, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, said the probe is ongoing to determine whether the weapons were smuggled into Malaysia for use by drug syndicates. “JSJN is still investigating to confirm any link with drug syndicates,” he told Harian Metro today.

The suspect, a Malaysian national, was detained at 5:35 pm during a police roadblock conducted by the Sadao District Police. According to sources, the checkpoint was part of an operation to prevent drug smuggling and address security threats.

A search of the Malaysian-registered Kia vehicle revealed two M4 rifles, 300 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, seven 5.56mm magazines, 100 rounds of .45 caliber bullets, and 50 rounds of 9mm bullets. All weapons and ammunition were seized as evidence for further investigation.

The authorities are continuing to investigate the origin of the weapons and any potential links to criminal networks.
