Malaysian Influencer Claims ‘Men Who Do Housework Are Gay’, Sparks Outrage

Date:

A Malaysian influencer known as SPEAKER has sparked outrage after posting on his Instagram account @dma_islam, which has over 32,000 followers, that “changing your child’s diaper = GAY.”

In his post, he claimed that “men who do housework are gay” and questioned why men should take on domestic responsibilities. He compared it to royalty, saying: “Have you ever seen a king sweeping rubbish in the palace? If he’s busy cleaning, he won’t have time to run the country.”

SPEAKER argued that men should focus on earning money and gaining respect, not on doing chores at home. He went as far as to mock men who help around the house as “lazy” for supposedly avoiding the struggle of working outside.

The remarks triggered instant backlash online, with many netizens criticizing his outdated and disrespectful views. Comments included, “So I’m gay now?”, “Don’t drag the rest of us into this,” and “Classic toxic masculinity.”

This is not the first time SPEAKER has made controversial statements. He previously called career women “stupid,” labeled mass communication as “Malaysia’s dumbest course,” and claimed overweight people “don’t deserve respect.”

His latest statement has once again cemented his reputation for courting controversy, but this time, many argue he has crossed a line.
