Man, 43, Found Dead Outside Penampang Home, Case Classified As Sudden Death

Date:

A 43-year-old man was found dead outside his home in Penampang this morning, with police classifying the case as a sudden death pending the outcome of a post-mortem examination.

Penampang district police chief Superintendent Sammy Newton said authorities received a report at about 8.15am regarding an unconscious man found at the car porch of a house in Kampung Nosoob Baru.

Initial investigations revealed that the victim was discovered lying unresponsive on the ground outside the front entrance of his residence. Paramedics who arrived at the scene later confirmed that the man had already died.

Supt Sammy said no signs of physical struggle were found on the body, and checks at the scene showed no evidence of forced entry or elements suggesting criminal activity. Such findings, he added, indicate there was no immediate indication of foul play.

“The body has been sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death. Until the official report is completed, the case is being classified as sudden death,” he said.

He also urged members of the public who may have information related to the incident to come forward and assist police investigations, while advising against speculation that could cause unnecessary concern.
