A man was shocked after allegedly discovering that he had been secretly peeped at while using a petrol station toilet, with the suspect reportedly engaging in indecent behaviour at the time of the incident.
The victim, identified as Irwanramli_ on social media platform Threads, shared that he noticed a pair of eyes watching him through a small hole in the adjacent cubicle. He believed the opening had been deliberately created for voyeuristic purposes. He also claimed the hole had previously been covered with tape before being exposed again.
According to his account, the suspect appeared to have acted in a calculated manner, locking most of the toilet cubicles beforehand to create the impression that the facility was fully occupied. Only the farthest cubicle, allegedly fitted with the hidden viewing hole, was left available, which the victim says led him to unknowingly use it.
After realising he was being watched, the man said he waited outside the toilet for nearly 30 minutes until the suspect eventually emerged. He added that the individual showed no remorse and behaved casually despite being confronted.
“I told him to leave, but he refused and stayed at the petrol station for almost 20 minutes,” he claimed.
The victim later reported the matter to station staff, who allegedly admitted that similar voyeurism cases had occurred at the location before.
Concerned about public safety, the victim shared footage and the suspect’s vehicle details online, sparking widespread outrage on social media. Many users condemned the act as a serious form of sexual harassment and expressed concern over public restroom safety.
Some commenters remarked that even men are no longer safe in public toilets, while others urged parents to accompany children when using public restrooms due to rising safety concerns.
Authorities have since reminded the public to stay alert when using public facilities and to report any suspicious behaviour immediately.
