Man Attacked by Lorry Driver After Being Accused of Cutting Fuel Queue

Date:

A man sustained injuries to his nose, left hand, and a swollen area at the back of his head after he was allegedly assaulted by a lorry driver for supposedly cutting the queue at a petrol station in Pandan Indah yesterday.

Ampang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, said the incident occurred at around 5.15pm when the victim was at the petrol station and was approached by an unknown man driving a lorry, who accused him of jumping the queue.

According to him, the victim explained that he was actually at a different pump. However, after he made his payment, the suspect confronted him again, leading to a heated argument.

“The suspect touched the victim’s nose with his finger, then pulled out an unidentified red object from his pants and jabbed it toward the victim’s nose, causing injury,” he said in a statement today.

A scuffle broke out between the two men, during which the victim suffered cuts to his nose and left hand, as well as swelling at the back of his head. Bystanders intervened and broke up the fight, after which the suspect fled the scene.

Police are currently tracking down the suspect, who remains at large. The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a weapon.
