A man in his 40s died after being electrocuted while painting a house in Kampung Likas, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, this morning.
The victim suffered severe burn injuries, including the severing of his wrist, and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Buletin TV3.
Lintas Fire and Rescue Station chief Agustavia Joe Guasi said the department received an emergency call at 10.03 am. A team of 10 firefighters and officers, along with a fire engine and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit, were dispatched to the location.
“The victim was reported to have been electrocuted while carrying out painting work. He suffered severe burns and a severed wrist and was confirmed dead at the scene by medical personnel,” Agustavia stated.
The body was later handed over to the police for further investigation. Firefighters completed a final inspection of the site to ensure no other hazards remained, concluding the operation at 11.10 am.
