A man was decapitated after the car he was travelling in was involved in an accident at Taman Permata Impian, Jalan Felda Taib Andak, late last night.
According to a spokesperson from the Johor Fire and Rescue Department, the emergency call was received at 10.36 pm. Eight firefighters, along with a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit, were dispatched from the Kulai Fire and Rescue Station, located about six kilometres from the scene. The operation was led by Mohd Firdaus Juritah.
The spokesperson said the accident involved a Honda City which crashed into a five-tonne Hino lorry parked by the roadside. The car’s driver, an adult male, sustained injuries but was not trapped. He was freed from the vehicle by members of the public before the arrival of firefighters.
However, the front-seat passenger, also an adult male, was trapped and died at the scene after being decapitated. Firefighters used special equipment to extricate the victim before handing the remains over to the Health Ministry and police for further action.
