A man returning home from work early this morning was horrified to find his younger brother dead, hanging in an upstairs room of their house near the Padungan Fire Station in Kuching.
The tragic discovery was made around 7am, involving a 32-year-old Chinese man who lived with his elder brother in a modest home near the fire station.
According to the victim’s elder brother, he usually leaves for work at 3pm daily and only returns home around 7am the next morning. He said his late brother was usually not home when he left for work, while their mother, who has mobility issues, has been staying with their sister for some time.
Upon returning home this morning, the brother went upstairs to change his clothes when he made the shocking discovery — his sibling hanging lifeless in the room. Despite shouting his name several times, there was no response.
He immediately rushed to the nearby Padungan Fire Station to seek help. Firefighters quickly contacted the 999 emergency hotline, and an ambulance from Sarawak General Hospital’s Emergency Department was dispatched to the scene.
Police officers from the Padungan Police Station have since launched an investigation into the incident.
