A man was found in critical condition and covered in blood after allegedly murdering his wife in South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
The suspect, identified as AM, 45, reportedly fled after slashing his wife, SY, 36, during the incident at Dusun Bontomarannu, Desa Bontotangnga, Bontolempangang District, Gowa Regency, on Thursday.
According to witnesses, family members rushed to check after hearing screams from the victim’s room. However, SY was already dead, suffering fatal wounds to her neck and chest.
“Preliminary information indicates this is a case of domestic violence,” said Gowa Police Criminal Investigation Unit officer, Ipda Aditya Pamungkas.
Neighbors later tracked down the suspect and found him in critical condition with injuries to his waist. Authorities also recovered a traditional dagger, or badik, believed to be the weapon used in the attack.
AM is currently receiving treatment at a hospital while further investigations are underway.
