Man Stabs Woman And Her Sister Before Jumping from 15th Floor

Date:

A tragic love dispute turned deadly in Sanchong District, New Taipei City, late on November 2. A 35-year-old man surnamed Su attacked his ex-girlfriend and her sister with a fruit knife before taking his ex to the rooftop and jumping to his death.

According to police, Su, a former Air Force lieutenant who later opened a beverage shop in Taipei, had recently suffered emotional distress following a breakup and rising shop rent. Despite frequent calls from his mother checking on him, tragedy struck just hours after she last spoke with him that evening.

Investigations revealed that Su ambushed his ex-girlfriend, surnamed Chen, and her sister in their apartment parking area. He stabbed the sister in the neck and back when she tried to protect Chen. The sister managed to escape and alert the police. Su then held Chen hostage, forcing her to the 15th-floor rooftop at knifepoint, threatening, “If you insist on breaking up, we’ll die together.”

Police negotiators surrounded the scene, urging Su to surrender, but he pushed Chen toward officers before jumping off the building. Su died from his injuries despite emergency treatment, while Chen sustained non-life-threatening neck wounds.

Authorities are now investigating the case under attempted murder and other criminal charges, and have summoned family members for further questioning.
