MetMalaysia Issues Thunderstorm and Heavy Rain Warning for Parts of Sarawak and Sabah

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a weather warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds affecting several areas in Sarawak and Sabah until 8pm today.

In a statement, MetMalaysia said the adverse conditions are expected to impact parts of Sarawak, including Kuching, Serian and the Samarahan division, covering Samarahan and Asajaya.

Similar warnings have been issued for several regions in Sabah, including the interior districts of Sipitang and Beaufort, the west coast areas of Ranau and Kota Belud, Tawau and Kunak in the Tawau division, Telupid and Beluran in Sandakan, as well as Kota Marudu in Kudat.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions during the period of adverse weather.
