The Ministry of Education (MOE) has taken immediate action against the officers who were detained during an enforcement operation at a health club in the capital last Friday.
According to MOE, the officers who were involved have been removed from placement at any educational institution under the ministry’s jurisdiction until the investigation is completed.
“MOE views the alleged involvement of several officers in immoral activities with utmost seriousness. The ministry does not tolerate such misconduct. An internal investigation is currently in progress,” the statement said.
The ministry also instructed all department heads to intensify monitoring efforts and ensure that such activities are prevented at every level.
During last Friday’s raid, 208 individuals were arrested, including 17 civil servants. Authorities reportedly seized several items believed to be linked to improper conduct. The case is being investigated under Section 377B of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years’ imprisonment and whipping upon conviction.
