‘Mosquito Pedal Gang’ Puts Serdang Roads at Risk, Netizens Call for Police Action

Date:

A group of reckless cyclists, dubbed the “Mosquito Pedal Gang,” has been spotted riding dangerously around Serdang MRT, prompting safety concerns from the public.

A social media user on the Facebook page “Serdang Got Everything” reported seeing the cyclists near MRT UPM last Saturday afternoon (Jan 24). She said the riders were pedaling in the middle of the road, striking “Superman” poses on their bikes, and ignoring vehicles behind them.

To avoid a potential accident, the woman honked at them to move aside, and they eventually stopped on the roadside. However, she later returned and found that the cyclists were still in the area.

She warned, “If an accident occurs, these kids not only risk their own lives but also the lives of motorists.”

The post sparked heated discussion online. Netizens tagged the police to raise awareness and highlighted other Serdang areas where the gang often appears, including Taman Eko Serdang, Taman Anamputra, Prima Tropika, and Pinggiran Putra.

Some commenters criticized the parents, saying they would likely blame others instead of acknowledging the dangers of their children riding recklessly on the road.
