A senior man tragically died after his motorcycle was involved in a collision with another motorcycle and a lorry near Masjid Ibadur Rahman, Taman Abdullah Fahim, Kepala Batas, this morning.
The victim, 63-year-old Abdul Mutalib Che Mat, who was riding a Honda Dash, was pronounced dead at the scene after becoming trapped under the lorry’s front tyre.
John Sagun Francis, Assistant Director of the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Penang’s Operations Division, said emergency services received a call at 10:24am and promptly dispatched a team from Kepala Batas Fire and Rescue Station.
“Upon arrival, the victim was found trapped beneath the lorry. Our crew used specialized equipment to carefully extricate him,” he explained.
The 59-year-old lorry driver was unharmed, while a 61-year-old motorcyclist sustained a knee injury and received immediate treatment from EMRS personnel. The deceased’s body was handed over to police for further investigation.
